Galleries and art exhibitions

Valve has several art galleries, where diverse exhibitions take place throughout the year. In addition to the actual gallery spaces, exhibitions are displayed in the cafeteria and in the lobby gallery located near the Ojakatu entrance. All these exhibition spaces are located on the ground floor of Valve. Free entry!

Northern Photographic Centre

The Northern Photographic Centre features temporary exhibitions of well-known Finnish and international photography artists. In addition, the Photos of the Month exhibition series presents new projects by both professionals and photography enthusiasts.

Valve Gallery

Valve Gallery offers a wide range of exhibitions organised by artists, educational institutions, associations and amateurs. In the spring, the gallery presents the exhibition for the Enchanted Words Festival. The entrance to the Valve Gallery is located next to the Comics Store. 

Oulu Comics Center’s Comic Gallery!

Oulu Comics Center is the multipurpose center of Northern comics community. The basis of the center is to increase comics knowledge and to bring forth both the comics and the makers.

Exhibition spaces of the Oulu Artists Association

Right next to Valve at Hallituskatu 5, there are also exhibition spaces of the Oulu Artists Association: Gallery 5, ARTtila and the newly opened media space Pimento. The artotheque and art shop ARTo is located on the same premises.
