Arriving to Valve

Cultural Centre Valve is located in Oulu City Centre, at Hallituskatu 7, 90100 Oulu.

Incase you need guidance or information about arriving to Valve, contact our In-house services:

Due to Valve’s central location, it is easy to arrive by bike or afoot. You can find bike stands next to the building wall on Hallituskatu street’s side.

Public Transportation: There are bus stops located in the close proximity of Valve. Information about the bus schedules and locations of the bus stops can be found from the Oulu Regional Transport’s (OSL) website.

Parking: Valve does not have its own customer parking spots. You can find two (2) hour parking disc spots from a walking distance of Valve, as well as elevator accesses from Kivisydän underground Parking Garage.

By Train or Plane: Valve is located approximately about 800 meters away from Oulu Railway Station, and about 15 kilometers away from Oulu Airport.

Entrance and Facilities

The main entrance to Valve with automated doors is located on Hallituskatu street. Valve can also be entranced from Ojakatu street’s side. 

When arriving from Hallituskatu entrance, you can find the ticket office and in-house services info desk on the left after the double doors. You can also find the elevator and staircase leading to other floors, from the lobby area. Signs will lead you to street level galleries and Valvesali Hall, second floor Valvenäyttämö Stage and Studio Cinema, as well as third floor Dance Studios. Restaurant Valveen Paljetti is located on the street level. Valve Meeting Room is located on the third floor, and has a seperate entrance on Ojakatu street’s side. The Meeting Room does not have an accessible entrance.

Belongings: Lobby area has a free self service coat check for outerwear keeping. We are not responsible for any belongings left on the coat check. Valve does not have lockable storages or possibilities for safekeeping of bigger luggages for the duration of the visit. You are not able to bring bikes or electric scooters inside Valve.

If an event has a paid coat check, it will be mentioned in the event details separately.

Toilets: Public toilets and accessible toilets are located on the basement floor. Unisex toilets are located on the Dance Studio hallway, on the third floor.

Pets: Cats and dogs are welcome to Valve lobby area, and guide/service dogs to all parts of the building.

Guidance and In-House Services

Guidance and in-house services are at your disposal within Valve’s opening hours for public. The services include for example facility bookings and payments, guidance for the use of rented facilities as well as lost and found services.

In-house services desk is located near the Hallituskatu street entrance, following the ticket office desk. If in-house services staff member is not present at the desk, you can reach them by calling (contact info below).

You are able to pay the facility rents (f.e. dance studios, meeting room, studio cinema, Kantti crafts workshop) with the in-house services. We accept common bank/credit cards and cash as payment methods.

Lost and Found

You can inquire lost and founds from the In-house Services. Primarily we keep lost and found goods at Valve for three (3) months.
